A four-day saturation patrol by Sioux Falls Police resulted in 31 citations for red-light violations and 55 citations overall.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says the patrols, Tuesday through Friday, focused on several heavily-traveled streets in the city.

"Pretty much all of Minnesota, West 12th Street, Cliff Avenue all the way north and south, and then East 10th Street."

Officer Sam Clemens:

Clemens says no motorists were arrested for driving while intoxicated by the officers conducting the saturation patrols, while the other citations were for offenses such as seatbelt violations, speeding and driving with no insurance.

The patrols were funded with a grant from the Office of Highway Safety.
