Jarvis Varnado of the Sioux Falls Skyforce was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Nov. 23 – Dec. 2

A 6-9, 210-pound forward out of Mississippi State, who had been in training camp with the Miami Heat, Varnado led Sioux Falls to a 3-0 record for the week, averaging 15.7 points to go along with 9.3 rebounds and a league-high 5.7 blocks.

Varnado has tallied 17 blocks through the opening three games of the season. In the Sioux Falls season opener against Iowa, he recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. On Nov. 30, in a 118-111 win at Springfield, he tallied 21 points to go along with eight blocks.

Other top performers considered include Iowa’s Chris Wright, who averaged 19.0 points and 8.0 assists; Maine’s Micah Downs, who averaged 20.5 points and 7.3 rebounds; Springfield’s James Mays, who averaged 19.0 points and 13.0 rebounds; Sioux Falls’ Andrew Goudelock, who averaged 23.7 points.
