The Minnesota Twins' 2012 season ended Wednesday night with a loss to Toronto.

In fact, the Blue Jays swept the Twins as they wrapped up the season dead last in the American League Central.

The Twins ended with a record only a handful of games better than their record in 2011, when they barely avoided losing 100 games, so this is not the kind of improvement anyone was hoping for.

Heaven help me, I'm still a fan. But I'm really, really hoping we're not headed into a stretch like the mid-to-late 1990s, when being a fan took a certain amount of masochism.

We're told more firings could follow that of Rick Stelmaszek, the now-former bullpen coach who just wrapped up his 32nd year with the team.

I don't like to see anyone lose their jobs, but if changes are made, I hope they're going to help the team.

So wait until 2013!
