SWAT Called Following Early Morning Domestic Dispute
The Sioux Falls Police Department says a SWAT team was called to to an apartment in the 600 block of South Third Avenue for a domestic dispute.
Lieutenant Galen Smidt says before officers arrived, the suspect's 27-year-old girlfriend fled the apartment with a one-year-old child. The suspect remained in the apartment with the couple's five and seven-year-old children and was making statements about harming himself with a utility knife.
The suspect, 33-year-old Willylon Waylon DeNoyer, was arrested shortly before 5am and charged with domestic simple assault and outstanding warrants.
