South Dakota Legisators Fund Jobs and Economic Incentives Plan
The economic development incentives proposal being created by the legislature is almost completed. Thursday March 7, lawmakers promised money from the state general fund to get the programs started. The amount pledged is $ 7 million.
A few perfunctory procedures need to be done and Governor Daugaard's signature added.
This is the most comprehensive job creation bill passed in a long time. The components of it, embrace education, assists with infrastructure improvements, and forgives certain taxes if project costs exceed specified amounts.
A bipartisan effort recognizing the importance of education, infrastructure and tax incentives, created, in my opinion, a great result.
