We talked yesterday about the Powerball jackpot reaching $500 million.

Well, forget that.

The Multi-State Lottery Association, the organization that runs the game, says the Wednesday night jackpot is up to $550 million, but officials also say that could go higher, depending on ticket sales.

I'm just guessing the thought of winning that kind of dough isn't going to keep people from playing.

By the way, if you were the only winner and you took the cash option, it would be worth (take a deep breath, now) $360,200,000 before the tax people get their cut, and that would be substantial.

Still, it's a lot of dough, but play responsibly.

Powerball is played in 42 states, including South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa.
