New Cellphone User Fee?

Little Boy On Cell Phone

Those federal user fees on your monthly cellphone bills could be going up.

ABC News reports, earlier this summer President Obama ordered the Federal Communications Commission to wire 99% of Americans schools to the internet within five years.

Now the Deputy Press Secretary, Josh Earnest, confirms cellphone owners will be asked to pay a user fee to cover the expense.

We’re asking for a modest $5 more a year from each cellphone owner.

Being the FCC is an independent governing body, the President can’t force it to agree – so only time will tell if the extra charge will eventually show up on your bill.
