MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — A man accused of voting twice in a Mitchell School Board election plans to change his plea to guilty.

Fifty-four-year-old Craig Guymon earlier pleaded not guilty to a felony voter fraud charge that carries a maximum punishment upon conviction of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.

The Daily Republic newspaper reports that Guymon has agreed to plead guilty under a deal in which prosecutors will not recommend a particular sentence to the judge.

A change-of-plea hearing will be held later for Guymon, who is known in the South Dakota town for being a vocal critic of school officials. Authorities allege that he voted in person during the June 4 election after earlier voting by absentee ballot.
