Madison Looks to 2013 as Year of Projects
MADISON, S.D. (AP) - Madison officials already are touting 2013 as the year of projects.
The city plans to complete three major projects and hopes to start another this year. Mayor Gene Hexom says the developments will get Madison "back on track."
The Daily Leader reports that Madison High School is undergoing $14.5 million in renovation work and construction. It's set to start this summer and finish in December.
Global Polymer is expected to finish a new building in the Lakeview Industrial Park around August. Additionally, construction on Inter-Lakes Community Action's Head Start building is expected to wrap up later this year.
Hexom says the potential project in the works is the construction of a new, $30 million Madison Community Hospital facility.
Madison is about an hour north of Sioux Falls.
