Interstate 90 Cliff Avenue Construction Updates
Sometime on Friday afternoon, July 26, traffic will be switched to the newly constructed westbound Interstate 90 on-ramp in Sioux Falls and the Dike Drive detour will be removed, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation.
Once the westbound I-90 on-ramp has been re-opened, I-90 traffic through Sioux Falls will be placed head-to-head on the newly constructed westbound lanes so construction can begin on the eastbound lanes.
On Monday July 29, at 7 p.m., Interstate 90 and Cliff Avenue interchange in Sioux Falls until 6 a.m. the next morning, according to the South Dakota Department of Transportation. The closure will be repeated on Tuesday July 30 at 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The closure is needed so the contractor can remove the existing eastbound I-90 structure over Cliff Avenue.
The interchange ramps will remain open to traffic, but Cliff Avenue will be closed to thru traffic at the I-90 overpass bridge.
The work is part of the $17. 4 million Interstate 90 and Cliff Avenue interchange project that has an interim completion date of November 8.
