SUMMARY:Knit The Pavil-YARN
DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_54571" align="aligncenter" width="630"] (Courtesy of Washington Pavilion)[/caption] Knit the Pavil-YARN! is a full-scale yarnbombing of the outside of the Washington Pavilion. The kinder\, gentler version of street art-yarnbombing boldly transforms objects in public spaces with colorful and fuzzy knitted and crocheted wrappings. We are inviting folks to help us wrap as many objects on the Pavilion campus as possible with knitted and crocheted coverings. The Pavilion wants EVERYONE to be involved. We are collecting knitted and crocheted materials in any sizes\, hand or machine-knit (acrylic and acrylic blends are best). We are also collecting yarn\, hooks and needles. Bring donations to the Pavilion Box  any time we are open. Our yarnstorming brigade will be more heavily involved in the design and installation so let us know if you like to be entrenched. Installation will begin in March of 2013 and the display will be up through the Sidewalk Arts Festival. You can donate pieces and materials at the Pavilion Box Offìce during open hours now. Join the yarnstorming brigade or just check out the action at our Free First Friday Crochet/ Knit-ins\, where we will gather\, of Hockaday Museum of Art dream\, knit\, crochet and collaborate. The Next First Friday Crochet/Knit-in is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on February 1.  Share online through the SD Yarners Group here (a Knit the Pavil- YARN! thread is already unraveling) or contact Kaía Mogen at 605-367-7397 Extension 2348 or kmogen@washingtonpavilion.org to give or get involved.
