Gene Hetland

Hi, and thanks for logging on! I'm a lifelong South Dakotan, in fact a lifelong eastern South Dakotan. I grew up on a farm north of Montrose, in McCook County and am a South Dakota State University grad (Go Jacks!). I lived and worked for a time in Huron after college and have lived in Sioux Falls since January of 1975. My wife's name is Sharon and we're Twins fans, although some years it isn't easy. I hope you'll keep checking my posts. We're not going to get into who's right, who's wrong or who's full of something. I'm just telling you a bit about what's going on with me.

Words to Remember from Edward R. Murrow

It was a little over 59 years ago that Edward R. Murrow publicly criticized Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy, who had alleged the federal government was full of Communists.

Now, I was very young then, but I do remember the McCarthy hearings, which were televised, in which McCarthy accused anybody and everybody, it seemed, of being subversive

Basketball Tournaments, Past and Present

Tournament season always reminds me of basketball tournaments I have seen, and they go back a few years.
