Augustana 11th After First Round Of NCAA Championships
DAYTONA BEACH, FL — Augustana women’s golf completed the first round at the NCAA Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Wednesday shooting a 40-over-par 328 and is in 11th place. Nova Southeastern leads the 12-team field after one round shooting a four-over-par 292.
Daniela Ortiz of Nova Southeastern leads all individuals after round one at 5-under-par 67.
Emily Kvidera led Augustana in the first round of play at the NCAA Championships firing a four-over-par 76. Kvidera started off the day with a bogey on a par-four hole one, before firing a birdie on the second hole, a par-five. She brought her score to one-under-par with another birdie on hole five and ended the front nine with three straight bogey’s to sit at two-over-par.
Kvidera fired three bogeys on the back nine before ending the day with a birdie on the 18th hole to finish in a tie for 16th at four-over 76 on the day.
Marisa Toivonen entered the clubhouse after the first round at six-over-par 78. Toivonen fired even par on 10 of the 18 holes this afternoon and shot her lone birdie on the sixth hole.
Jennifer Pederson is tied for 57th after shooting a 13-over-par 85. Allie Ostrander sits in 67th place at 17-over-par 89 while Maggie Leland is in 72nd with a score of 23-over-par 95.
The second round of the NCAA Championships will begin Thursday 9:30 a.m. CT at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
