Police say three men were involved in a strong-armed robbery of a convenience store on North Sycamore Avenue early Friday.

Officer Sam Clemens says a man came into the Kum & Go at 6th & Sycamore around 2:30am, took an 18-pack of beer from the cooler and walked out the door.

The clerk followed him, and when he was outside two other men tackled him and punched him several times.

The three men left the store in a red late-model SUV and went south on Sycamore.

The 21-year-old clerk was not injured.

Clemens says the man who came into the store was described as a Native American male, about 23 years old, 5'9" and 140 pounds.

One of the men who tackled and punched the clerk was a Native American male, 6'2" and 250 pounds, and the other was a black male, 6'2" and 280 pounds.
