Sioux Falls Mother Skips Court Date
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A warrant has been issued for the mother of three children who died in a Sioux Falls house fire, after she skipped a court hearing on child neglect and drug possession charges.
Authorities allege that 34-year-old Rhiannon White tested positive for drugs after the December 22 fire that killed 6-year-old Alivia Coon, 12-year-old Savannah Coon and 16-year-old Michael Hensley. White and her husband escaped with minor injuries by jumping out a second-floor window. Fire investigators were not able to determine the cause of the fire because the damage was too extensive.
White was to be arraigned Thursday but she did not show up.
