(NPN) -- Dakota is booming. The Dakotas’ two largest cities — Fargo and Sioux Falls — are among the fastest growing cities of over 100,000 population in the United States, according to a recent U.S. Census Bureau estimate.

The estimate put Fargo, N.D. as the seventh fastest growing city in America, with a growth rate of 3.2 percent. The bureau estimates Fargo gained 3,516 people and increased to 113,658 residents in 2013.

Sioux Falls, S.D. is the 11th fastest growing city in the United States, with a growth rate of 2.8 percent. The bureau estimates Sioux Falls gained 4,446 residents in 2013, growing to 160,230.

Other Dakota cities are also growing. Rapid City, S.D. Bismarck and Grand Forks, N.D. also saw growth in 2013.

Bismarck saw the greatest increase at 3.5 percent, moving the North Dakota capital to 67,034 residents in 2013. Grand Forks had an estimated growth rate at 2.6 percent and 54,932 estimated residents.
Rapid City has an estimated population growth rate of 1.2 percent, increasing the city’s population to an estimated 70,812 in 2013.
