Augustana University head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has made a life of being involved in the sport of wrestling and the nation has taken notice.

He is now being inducted into the 2020 NWCA Hall of Fame as a coach as he has already been inducted into the Augustana Hall of Fame as a student-athlete.

GoAugie.com had this release on Reitmeier's induction:

Augustana head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has been announced as a 2020 inductee into the National Wrestling Coaches Association Jim Koch Division II Hall of Fame.

A 1997 graduate of Augustana, Reitmeier is a member of the 2008 Augustana Hall of Fame Class as a student-athlete while he will join the NWCA Hall of Fame as a coach.

At the helm of the Vikings' wrestling squad since 2003, Reitmeier is the all-time winningest coach in Augustana history, has coached four national champions and has had a wrestler earn All-America accolades in 15 of his 16 completed seasons. He has guided the Vikings to 11 top-five region showings along with a third-place and two runner-up finishes at nationals.

Reitmeier was named the 2005 NCAA Division II Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to the North Central Conference Championship, a regional title and finished as the national runner-up. He was named the NSIC Coach of the Year in 2010.

Reitmeier became Augustana's all-time leader in wins on Dec. 4, 2016, claiming his 155th dual victory, where he surpassed DII Hall of Fame coach Paul Kendle. Now in his 17th season, Reitmeier owns 181 career wins against just 86 losses.

As a student-athlete, Reitmeier was the 1997 National Champion at 142 pounds with a 30-3 overall record.

Reitmeier is the fifth member of the NWCA Hall of Fame from Augustana, joining Brian Parlet, Paul Kendle, Sam Herriman, and Tom Meester.
