Dakota Rural Access has provided Drone Video of the Keystone 1 Pipeline spill area near Freeman, South Dakota. No doubt DRA has a very specific goal to spread the message of concern with the video. Regardless of your thoughts on pipelines and the environment, the video footage is interesting.

Most recent statements from TransCanada, the company behind the Keystone Pipeline, say the total estimate is 16,800 gallons.  The contaminated dirt is being removed from the scene. The source of the leak was found on Friday.

Sensors to detect a 2 percent drop in pressure in the pipeline did not activate or alert of a leak.

Residents say they are pleased with the level of communication with TransCanada, and have been told to expect the crew to be on location for approximately a month for cleanup and reclamation.
