Yankton Project Shelved Over Potential for Sun Glare
YANKTON – The developer of a greenhouse and fish production facility in southern Yankton County has shelved the project.
Randy Golden says he was worried about the potential for lawsuits over glare from the 270,000-square-foot glass greenhouse when the sun struck the building.
Golden says the unassembled greenhouse has been sold to a buyer in New Jersey.
The Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan newspaper reports that the County Commission in 2009 rezoned 36 acres of land to make way for the Heartland Harvest Farms project.
