RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper is being credited with stopping a shipment of 99 pounds of marijuana apparently bound for Ohio.

The trooper on Monday stopped a rental car for speeding in Pennington County and a police dog discovered the drugs. A 26-year-old Colorado man was arrested on drug distribution and possession charges.

The Rapid City Journal reports that the trooper also seized nearly $800 in cash.
