The Unwritten Road Rule
Apparently, it’s time for a little refresher course when it comes to a particular “unwritten” road rule. Namely, the one where you’re the first car at the intersection, waiting for the red light to turn green and you’re messing with your phone.
At that moment the light changes… and you sit there, and you sit there, and you sit there.
Ladies and gentlemen, I implore you to take it upon yourself to put down the phone and pay attention. It’s happened to me a half-dozen times this week alone. I’m one who doesn’t like to honk the horn, but I will if I need to get your attention.
If you really want to “get my goat,” mess with your phone long enough to where you’re the only car able to make it through the turn signal…Grrr!!!
If you do find yourself first in line, it’s a responsibility you shouldn’t take lightly. You’ve got a lot of people relying on you; you’re our leader.
What we need is for someone to come up with some sort of device, like a garage door opener, where if I see you playing with your phone while you’re driving in traffic, I can “click” you and shut your phone off.
You come up with something like that and you’ll be waking up on a white sandy beach the rest of your life. All I ask is that you remember who planted the idea into your head…ME!!!
