The Sioux Empire Fair is Underway. Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Fair
Summer is starting to wind down. In just a few weeks, the kids will be back in school. Enjoy some family fun at the 75th Sioux Empire Fair, August 1-10 at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. From the carnival rides to the fair food, live music, exhibits, bingo and more, there’s something for everyone at the Sioux Empire Fair.
Here’s this year’s Grandstand entertainment. All Grandstand entertainment is free with paid gate admission.
Saturday, August 2- 8:00pm
The first single, “Cheshire” off their new album, Yesteryear (June 2014), best embodies the band’s current direction. The song is an unabashedly honest love story about a girl from Northern Minnesota; the piece is a narrative masquerading as a pop song laced with fragile emotion and the buoyancy of young love.

2014 marks the 20th anniversary of Collective Soul. The band released Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid in 1994 as their first studio album. The long awaited 9th studio albumSee What You Started By Continuing fully embodies the journey that Collective Soul has taken musically and personally throughout the last two decades.

Hairball is the world’s ultimate “80′s Rock” impersonation act, recreating the good-time party atmosphere of the decadent decade with unmatched authenticity. They copy the personas of the era’s legendary front men while rapidly changing elaborate costumes, then complete their transformations with dead-on visual and vocal performances.

Josh Turner is an American country music singer and actor who signed to MCA Nashville Records in 2003. His latest single is “Time Is Love” off his new album, ‘Punching Bag’. In 2003, “Long Black Train”, his title track, was his breakthrough single release.

Buckcherry is an American rock band from Anaheim, California formed in 1995. The band released two albums,Buckcherry (1999) and Time Bomb (2001), before dissolving in the summer of 2002. In 2005, lead vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Keith Nelson reformed Buckcherry and released a new album on April 16, 2006. Buckcherry’s hits include Billboard Hot 100 top ten hit, “Sorry” and “All Night Long”.
The Beach Boys
Wednesday, August 6 – 8:00pm
The Beach Boys hit singles include “Surfin’ USA”, “Fun, Fun, Fun”, “California Girls”, “I Get Around”, and “Good Vibrations”. They are led by Mike Love (an original member) and Bruce Johnston, who along with Christian Love, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten continue the legacy of the iconic American band.
