House Majority Leader David Lust, Rich Lauer, local advocate for texting bans, and a proponent of a National Constitutional Convention, Fritz Pettijohn from Alaska on VPU today(Thursday)

HB 1177 as proposed would weaken all local governments in South Dakota and weaken existing bans on texting. It is sponsored by the Speaker of the House Brian Gosch. Rich Lauer has successfully lobbied local governments to pass local laws banning testing. He will explain to us why this bill is bad for public safety and local control.

Fritz Pettijohn is one of many people pushing for a National Constitutional Convention to deal with the continuing overspending by our Congress and President. That spending has put us over 17 trillion dollars in debt.

Majority Leader David Lust will provide an update on actions of the House and his work as chair of the State Affairs Committee.
