If you’re texting and driving in Sioux Falls, you could be fined.
During a news conference on Thursday, Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether and Police Chief Doug Barthel talked about the ordinance.
The ordinance was approved by the city council last month. It prohibits drivers from composing, reading or sending electronic messages.
Violation of the law is a Class 2 city ordinance misdemeanor offense and can result in a 95 dollar ticket.
