Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says Saturday's Saturation Patrol produced results.

"The weather was so nice we had a lot of people driving. Unfortunately, not all of those residents were obeying the traffic laws. We had 163 speeding tickets that were issued. There were two driving while intoxicated arrests along with a whole host of other tickets. The grand total of 285 tickets were handed out on Saturday."

In light of the many citations, Clemens doesn't expect an end to the Saturation Patrols.

"We really stress residents to obey the traffic laws and making sure they don't break the law. But, obviously they are. We will continue with these Saturation Patrols in the future."

Clemens says Saturday's Saturation Patrol was conducted throughout Sioux Falls.

Seventeen extra officers participated in the event.
