Sioux Falls Looks to Fill Board Vacancies
Mayor Mike Huether has announced a vacancy to the Main Street Business Improvement District Board or BID, which serves the downtown area.
The duty of the BID Board is to make recommendations to the City Council for the establishment of plans for improvements in the business district area and matters related to assessment rates, renewal of assessments, district boundaries, and use of funds.
The BID Board is composed of six members appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council, and each member serves a three-year term.
Interested persons should have a vested interest in downtown Sioux Falls and a strong commitment to public service. Application forms may be obtained by logging on to www.siouxfalls.org/boards-commissions.

In addition, Mayor Mike Huether has announced a vacancy to the Orpheum Theater Advisory Board of Directors. The mission of the Board is to advise the City including its agents, about the general operation, management, and use of the Orpheum Theater Center and to encourage community-based performing arts within the Sioux Falls area. Other duties include: serving as an ambassador and public steward, encouraging community-wide education in the arts through use of the Orpheum Theater Center, and advocating the continued financial investment for improving and enhancing the Orpheum Theater Center.
The Board consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Membership includes one representative from the Sioux Falls School District, one representative of the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau of the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, and other community leaders.
