Regents Grant Approval for USD Research Park
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) – The South Dakota Board of Regents has authorized the University of South Dakota to begin developing a Sioux Falls research park.
USD vice president for research Laura Jenski says the park will help grow companies in South Dakota and connect universities with innovative businesses in the entrepreneurial or expanding stages.
Land for the 80-acre park sits on the grounds of University Center and shares a campus with the Graduate Education and Applied Research Center.
Jenski says the park will provide space and access to university expertise, and students will receive hands-on opportunities to work with businesses and research firms as interns, researchers and part-time employees.
South Dakota Technology Business Center director Rich Naser says the park will provide entrepreneurs and local industry with additional resources to develop their businesses.
