Radiosurgery Doesn’t Involve Radio, Nor Surgery.
Dr. Steve McGraw joins A Better You host Rick Knobe to explain why Radiosurgery doesn’t involve radio, nor surgery.
The term is truly a misnomer. Dr McGraw, a radiation oncologist at Sanford will explain what Radiosurgery is and how it is used in certain type of cancer treatments. The procedure was developed by a Dr. Timmerman, originally from Watertown, South Dakota. It is now used around the world at facilities equipped with the proper radiation equipment.
When appropriate, using radiosurgery can lessen the number of treatments needed to assist in healing, and the side affects are few.
