Original ‘I Have a Dream’ Speech Found [VIDEO]

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

If you were listening to the Main Street Cafe this morning, you heard me talk about the “I Have a Dream Speech” that Dr. Martin Luther King delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial 50 years ago today.

Last night, the CBS Evening News ran an interesting story about where the original speech ended up.  Turns out a college basketball coach in Iowa had it, and you aren’t going to believe how he ended up with it.

Here’s a link if you would like to watch the story.  It runs around seven minutes and is well worth the time.

By the way, if you’ve never seen the original speech in it’s entirety, it’ll be shown at 3:15pm Wednesday at the Oak View Branch Library on the big screen in Meeting Room Three.
