Monday Snow Caused More Crashes in Sioux Falls

The snow that fell in Sioux Falls on Monday likely caused a spike in vehicle crashes as people drove home from work.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says Sioux Falls Police investigated reports of 40 crashes between 3pm and 7pm Monday.

He says police usually get reports of 20 to 30 crashes in a normal 24-hour period, so 40 crashes is, as he puts it, “a pretty high number.”.

Clemens says there were no serious injuries.

The National Weather Service says the city received around two inches of snow Monday and overnight into Tuesday.
