Minnehaha County Makes Bridges a Priority
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Minnehaha County is planning to spend more than $5.5 million to upgrade bridges over the next four years.
Highway Superintendent D.J. Buthe says a bridge inspection last year determined that some structures are rapidly deteriorating.
The Argus Leader reports that the county will spend more than $5 million this year replacing two bridges. Work planned for coming years involves smaller structures on gravel roads. Some might be replaced with less expensive concrete box culverts. Six bridge projects are in the plans for next year.
