McMahon, Trautmann Earn NFCA All-Region Honors
The Central Region is made up of schools from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, the Great American Conference and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
Both McMahon and Trautmann earned first team NFCA All-Central Region honors last season.
McMahon, a utility player for the Vikings, is batting .358 this season with a team-high 59 hits and nine doubles. She has belted nine home runs this season while picking up 28 RBI. McMahon owns a .576 slugging percentage and a .456 on-base percentage and has accounted for 95 total bases. As a utility player for the Vikings, McMahon has 237 putouts, 19 assists and just one error on the season for a .996 fielding percentage. She is Augustana’s all-time leader in career home runs with 41 and earlier this season was named All-NSIC First Team for the second straight season.
Trautmann, led the NSIC this season with 18 home runs, marking the second straight season with 18 home runs. She currently has 51 hits on the season, leading the Vikings with 18 home runs and 48 RBI. Trautmann also has eight doubles and has compiled a team-high .729 slugging percentage. She has also been the top performer in the circle for the Vikings, picking up 25 wins in 46 appearances, striking out 208 batters and holding opponents to a .241 batting average. Trautmann was named the NSIC’s Freshman of the Year last season and has now earned All-NSIC First Team honors in two straight seasons.
NFCA member coaches in each of the eight regions select the all-region teams. All honorees are now eligible to be selected to one of three NFCA All-America teams.
