A Sioux Falls man thought he was buying a bottle of liquor from some men he had been drinking with, but he ended up being robbed of his cash.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the victim had been drinking with three other men early Saturday at a bar in the 2800 block of East 10th Street.

When the bar closed at 2am, the others offered to sell him a bottle they had in a car.

Clemens says the man followed the three to their car, and when he took money out to buy the liquor, they pulled out knives, took his cash and drove off.

Clemens says the victim described the robbers as three Native American males in their late 20s, five-feet-seven to five-feet-ten and all weighing around 135 pounds.

The victim, who was intoxicated, was not injured.
