Nationally recognized author and motivational speaker Carol Kivler says there is life after depression!

In an interview with KSOO Radio, Carol said there is recovery.  In her words, "It's not a curable illness, but it is manageable if you get the right treatment.  It's so important to take the first step in seeking treatment."

While in recovery, Carol compiled 26 of her strategies into a guidebook.  It's titled The ABC's Of Recovery From Mental Illness.  "I made what I call lifestyle changes.  I came to recognize that any non curable illness needs a proactive approach.  The therapy, medications and the shock treatments were not enough.  They were not stabilizing me long enough.  I wanted to sustain my recovery for longer periods so I included things like journaling, exercise, and meditation."

Carol Kivler has been in recovery for eleven years and has been passionate about making a difference for others facing similar challenges.  Through her latest book, Will I Ever Be The Same Again, she strives to raise awareness, instill hope and combat the stigma associated with mental illness.
