It’s not what happens to us in life, it’s how we respond in it!  Francine Ward, a lawyer, an author and a motivational speaker knows that for a fact.

When she was 14 years old, Francine tells KSOO Radio she was strung out on heroin and alcohol.  “You know it’s not hard when you come to a place where you hated yourself and hated being in your own skin.  That’s how it was for me when I was a little kid.  It was easy for me to seek solace in drugs and alcohol.  It made me feel OK.  Alcohol took me to places I would have never gone had I not been drunk or wasted.    Yet, I get to tell you that I’ve been clean and sober for 24 years.”

Francine, the author of Esteemable Acts, was at one time a homeless woman.  “I was living on the streets of New York after dropping out of high school.  You see homeless people today and you wonder how someone could have gotten that low.  But, I can tell you as a drug addict, that’s where I found myself.”

At 21 years old, Francine was a call girl paying lawyers lots of money to keep her out of jail.  “I think probably the single most horrifying experience is when I became willing to sell my body in order to feed my drug habit.  That is probably the thing that pains me the most. That is when I hit rock bottom–selling the most precious thing I had–my body for drugs and alcohol.  I used to pay lawyers lots of money to keep me out of jail when I was hooking.  Today, I am a lawyer, a successful business woman, and am  now a published author.”

In spite of it all, Francine sought help and got  it!  Here is a story of resilience, endurance, stick-to-it-iveness and a faith that words under all conditions.

Francine Ward proves that success in life is about making choices and being able to overcome the inevitable obstacles that get in our way.
