With all the car safety issues that have surfaced over the past year - everything from faulty airbags to faulty ignition switches - there's finally some good news to report.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says next year's car models are actually some of the safest ever made.

The Institute is giving more than 70 of the 2015 car models their highest safety rating, mainly because of the growing number of cars with automatic breaking systems.

Adrian Lund of the Insurance Institute,

"Now there are nearly vehicles in every price and size that earn good or acceptable ratings."

And, according to Lund, the testers even raised the bar this year.
