GALLUP: “Happy Teeth” in the Dakotas and Minnesota!
(NPN) — Over 70 percent of Dakotans and Minnesotans say they practice good dental hygiene and go to the dentist at least once a year.
In Mississippi and a number of other Southern states, not so much.
These are among the findings in a new Gallup Poll on dental habits.
Minnesota (71.9 percent), North Dakota (71.4 percent) and South Dakota (70.7) percent) ranked sixth, seventh and 10th, respectively, in the survey for dental visits. Connecticutians are the most familiar with their dentists, with 74.9 percent of respondents saying they visit at least once a year.
Meanwhile, only 53 percent of Mississippians, according to Gallup, see the dentist at least once a year, the worst rate in the nation. Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas rounded out the bottom five.
