A while back we talked about the importance of getting a flu shot, and although the people who keep track say it's early, the influenza season is here.

The flu has shown up already in five states, none of them around South Dakota, but this news means you need to be vaccinated if you haven't been already..

This is National Influenza Vaccination Week, so this really would be a good time.

In South Dakota, the season generally peaks in February of March, but as Americans travel to other parts of the country for the Christmas and new Year's holidays, anything that's going around could be spread.

So if you haven't been vaccinated, get it done, and pass the message on to your loved ones.
