I love talk radio. Most of my radio career has been spent listening to opinions, getting viewpoints, interviewing policy makers, bureaucrats, and people with good, or not so good ideas. Sioux Falls and South Dakota are my home. I have lived here over half of my life. Original stomping grounds were Chicago, with short stints in Sioux City, Kansas City and the home of the Salukis, Carbondale, Illinois. Best job I have ever had, except this one, was being mayor of Sioux Falls from 1974 to 1984

If you’ve listened to me over the last several years you’re probably asking yourself, “how long has he been on the radio?” Here’s a clue: my first job on the air was the year before the very first Star Wars movie hit the big screen. And it’s still the most enjoyable career a person could ever have. Every day after work my wife Lori asks me what choices I gave my listeners. It’s something you’ll hear me ask every day about 11:15am
Hi, my name is Chad McKenzie. I host of The Main Street Café weekday mornings on 1140 KSOO and KSOO.com along with News Director Beth Warden. I’m considered one of the “old farts” in Sioux Falls radio. I’ve been waking people up in the tri-state area since 1984. I spent my formative years growing up on a small farm just outside of Chester, South Dakota cleaning pig pens and talking to myself. After deciding that wasn’t my cup of tea, and realizing I had the gift of gab, I enrolled at South Dakota State University, where I went on to graduate and land a radio job in Sioux Falls and I’ve been here ever since
I love laughing with my kids, sitting in the living room and having a cup of coffee with my husband. Wishing I could fit more to do in my day. Wonder what incredible plans God has in store for the future & what my kids will look like and be like when they’re teenagers. I’m really beginning to understand how fast their time goes living with us!
