If Russell Street is part of your daily commute, some changes are coming, and while they won't be permanent, you're going to notice.

The Sioux Falls Public Works Department says during the week of October 14 through the 19, westbound Russell Street between West Avenue and Western Avenue will be closed so crews can install a sanitary sewer line across Russell.

That's going to mean westbound Russell Street traffic will be detoured to the north frontage road between West and Western.

The city says you can expect some traffic delays if you drive this stretch, which is just north of the Arena and Howard Wood Field.

And while eastbound Russell Street traffic will not be affected between the 15th and the 19th, the same thing will happen there from Sunday, October 21 to Friday, October 26th.

Russell Street will be fully open to traffic on Saturday, the 20th, between the two weeks of work.

So keep all this in mind when you're driving in this area, and be careful.
