Clock is Ticking on Sequestration
The prospect of across-the-board budget cuts, the so-called "sequestration," looms ever closer, and the clock is ticking.
March first is the deadline, and Congress and President Obama don't appear to be rushing toward any kind of agreement. But if the cuts come, all of us in South Dakota and around the United States would surely notice them, and we might not like them.
Lots of fingers are pointed in a situation like this, and as I've said before, in Congress the word "compromise" seems to be defined as "Your side comes over to our side's way of thinking."
Wow, that sounds simple.
But in the meantime, nobody in either the House or Senate appears to be backing up to the pay window, so to speak.
I'll state it simply: All of you have a job to do, so do it.
