City of Sioux Falls Looks to Target Stumps as Final Phase of Operation Timber Strike
Officials say the City will provide a free stump-grinding service for trees in the public right-of-way that were removed as a result of the three-day storm. That means all trees removed by City contractors, as well as trees in the public right-of-way removed by residents or private arborists in the wake of the storm, will be eligible for the free service.
Public Works Director Mark Cotter says the City is now soliciting stump-grinding bids.
Cotter says stump-grinding operations will begin in early September, and are expected to be completed by early October.
