Dr. Angelo Santos, Vascular Surgeon, with Sanford Health educates us on a common but serious disease, Peripheral Artery Disease(PAD) on A Better You Saturday Sept 24.

PAD is more common in folks over 50. Also, people with diabetes and smokers. Usually it occurs in the legs, but can also affect arms.

Peripheral Artery Disease is the buildup of plaque in an artery wall. The flow of blood is decreased, therefore oxygen and nutrients to the body are also decreased. Obviously not a good thing.

Dr. Santos describes the various symtoms and treatments to deal with PAD.

A Better You, Saturdays at 11am on this webpage and 1140 KSOO.
